Dr. Mary J. Elliott, DBA

Dr. Mary J. Elliott is a strategic communication and leadership consultant with more than three decades of experience helping organizations communicate effectively, navigate change, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and connect with the people they serve.

Her experience spans across several sectors including municipal government, healthcare, and higher education and includes strategic and crisis communication, executive messaging, writing and storytelling, presentations and training, stakeholder engagement, and organizational leadership. She previously served as Director of Communications and Marketing for the City of Gastonia, North Carolina, and now brings her experience as both a practitioner and leadership researcher to helping organizations and leaders communicate with greater clarity and intention.

Dr. Elliott earned a Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership and Development from Capella University. Her doctoral research explored leadership effectiveness, communication, and workforce engagement in the post-pandemic workplace. She is particularly passionate about leadership development, organizational resilience, and helping leaders communicate effectively during times of disruption and change.

Outside of her professional work, Mary enjoys motorcycling with her husband, photography, and traveling.
